Although today's digital effects can be considered indispensable for film production, even today are still using various traditional techniques to achieve greater realism to our scenery.

natural elements that are often invisible to the viewer such as dust or smoke can be easily and quickly recreated thanks to new technologies, but the end result is not always what is sought is always so we use techniques before.
I do not intend to start now explain the history of special effects because there are already several sources of much more detailed information where you can learn a lot about the subject. Just I do this little introduction to explain why I decided to use this technique instead of another.

The effect of which I speak in this thread is recreate or simulate cobwebs, may at first glance may seem obvious issue because it is usually not too difficult to perform these ...

These were the various techniques that I could try to date and its outcome

Cotton Cobwebs
Cotton is usually the most economical method because it is easy to find even in our own house without involving an economic cost us. Only we tease apart the pieces of cotton and go separating them into fine threads that go sticking at different points around the object or area to cover ... the effect is quite convincing but has the peculiarity that when being in our case scenarios to scale and very small objects, the very difficult material to work with and always a realistic look is achieved

Halloween Cobwebs
Cobwebs for Halloween: As with cotton this material can be easily found at costume stores the decorative, usually at the time of Halloween is when we will have no difficulty to find it. Treatment the same as the cotton ... but this time when synthetic fibers may be easier to separate and to achieve the desired effect.

Condor Cobwebs Effect
Cobwebs Spray: A success to find this product in specialty stores photography ... as the name suggests is a pot containing a "sticky" liquid to exit spray is projected and is stuck in the chosen area being small and fine tendrils intertwined with each other. The best to date no doubt because the result even in miniature scenes is as realistic as I could see. The brand I've found is Condor PhotoThe only main drawback is that as I said is a sticky product ... a kind of glue that in the case of my scenarios, as these are made of plastic parts, literally eats these ... extremely difficult to clean once I've had to discard impregnated with great sorrow for me because it was a rather expensive investment economically.

Silicon Gun
Hot glue gun: Finally, although in principle I showed somewhat reluctant to use this technique that had already been seen in different forums modeling with a fairly acceptable resulting, I opted for it. Use the same spray ... we create threads of silicone in this case we pasting and crossing each other in the area to cover ... the result ... pretty good and the best ... .to be silicone, once it hardens is easily remove parts without fear of damaging them.

And this is my summary and review of the different techniques that to date have tried to simulate cobwebs in my scenarios ... surely there are some more but personally I'll stick with these.
